One Magical Island

Well welcome to the first post. I thought I would give you all a little background information and talk about the beautiful island that I live on. I have recently moved here to the Isle of Islay the island of many wonders. The real reason I moved over wasn’t because of the beautiful blue Scottish sea or the fresh burst of whiskey, someone took my heart back in late December 2016 and ever since then I have been very curious. So due to that I decided to move my wonder further. Ever since then I have managed to get the opportunity to move my interests around the island and visit many different parts of the island and capture many special moments.

Believe in yourself

So today I bring a little advice that I was given a wee while ago. About two months ago I tried to start up my own wee business selling basic beauty products. It wasn’t going so well for me and I just didn’t believe I could achieve the goals i created for myself. I gave up on the business and this was down to not believing in myself and believing that I could dream big and achieve.

So after being part of a team for a while I was added into a few Facebook pages where the business leaders would put up live Facebook videos and post which just gave me hope to dream, believe and achieve. The two main women who made me start this blog and made me start doing things for myself were Mel and Louise. Seeing their inspiring posts and how well they are doing made me realise that I can concur anything I wish to do. So I started this blog just to write about anything and everything really but the main focus was to show my photography work and have somewhere to display my photographs.I feel like more and more people need to believe they can do anything and more people need to take risks.

Dream big, achieve more, believe always!

Personalised gifts…the gift that keeps on giving

So today I thought of cool personalised gifts. These kind of gifts are my favourite to receive. I just like the effort and knowing it’s personal to me. So here are the few ideas that I came up with. Now these gifts are perfect for Christmas, birthdays, Anniversaries or just because gifts. I will leave as many links as I can find but some gifts you may have to go into the store.

1. Homemade scrapbook – I’d love to receive this on Christmas Day. This is a creative and fun one to make as you can get creative and use different things that you have saved up over the year and pictures from the past months. You can practically get a empty scrapbook from any craft shop or online.

2. A message in a bottle – https://www.notonthehighstreet.com/hopeandwillow/product/message-in-a-bottle?istCompanyId=aa76f5e6-d733-4e56-8409-574cea196cc9&istItemId=xmxqqtmmxl&istBid=t&gclid=CjwKCAiA9rjRBRAeEiwA2SV4ZUshIejn8Hrsch2PmOX33q73bg5ZBSSO7wA8WkAWvxD3ou2yIF_cZBoCF1IQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CNfH49HHgtgCFYuEsgodSzYKrw

3. Thornton’s chocolate name slab- now this is great gift to get on Christmas because most people love chocolate and you can get their name or even a personalised message written on the chocolate slab. You can go in store to get this done.

4. Name a star – https://star-name-registry.com/?gclid=CjwKCAiA9rjRBRAeEiwA2SV4ZabcMtm2XX3mCRmVP8O9GAbEmThos-teQluyv_YumMuc_J03zpG9nRoCHRcQAvD_BwE

7. Message treasure box- so I think this is a lovely idea to do, it’s so simple to make all you need to get is a nice little box and some paper and basically all you do is write little cute messages on the paper and fold them and place them In the box for your partner to read whenever they wish.

8. Name phone case- https://www.dyefor.com/products/black-name-heart-handwriting-personalised-apple-iphone-case?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=googlepla&variant=82829377550&gclid=CjwKCAiA9rjRBRAeEiwA2SV4Zc74veofX7HUoSEOgrNyNSUW0XOSUqHDh2RfdMK0nxlsGpS1NvxYqBoCcPQQAvD_BwE

Some beautiful views

So today I just wanted to share some beautiful scenes that I have captured. I am very proud of my photographs and I’m not a professional I only do photography as I hobby as I do feel passionate about it. I love where I now live and I love the view I see when I look out my bedroom window. Jumping straight in here’s some of my photos I have taken.

This was one of the early mornings around the second month of being here. This was taken at 7:03am right before I went to work. This view looks right out across the ocean onto the opposite side of the island. The sun was just rising on an early September morning creating a beautiful mixtures of blues, greys, yellows, oranges and reds throughout the sky and the cloud creating some texture. I love this photo as the placement of the sun is rising just behind the mountains creating a beautiful silhouette.

The next two photos I want to share were taken yesterday during the afternoon. Most the snow has melted away or has turn into ice but as we were waiting for the shop to open we decided to take a seat on a bench and I couldn’t resit this scene. Seeing all the snow lay across the mountains and then the little snow left on the rocks just settles in the Christmas vibe for me. I love walking across the grass with snow hearing the crunch beneath your feet of the snow being pushed into the ground.

Now the last two photos were taking this afternoon. I just love the way the sky looks and how the pastel colours of blue and pink are spread throughout the sky.

Setting goals !

Today I thought I write. Post in setting goals as I love reading posts about other people’s goals and what they want to achieve.

For me I think the most effective way to achieve your goals and create goals would be to separate them into sections. Now the three sections which I am going to set mines into are going to be short-term, medium-term and long-term goals.

I think setting goals/achievements are very important as it gives you something to work in no matter if it’s personal or work related.

So I am going to jump straight into my goals. P.s I know I did a similar post to this (2018 bucket list) but I feel Luke this is a a little different.

Short-term:

• Be more manageable with my money. I.e savings account.

• Remember to keep in contact with my family. It’s not that I don’t talk to my mum and dad it’s more that I am a little stressed atm with trying to find a job and my heads all over the place so I tend to forget to phone for a chat.

Medium-term:

• Organise the room better and keep it tidy. I’ve put this in medium-term as this goal may take a little while to do.

• Read more books. This is in medium-term as I struggle to find the time to settle down and read a book, but I really need to read more.

Long-term:

• Find a flat. We already have applied for a space in the line for housing but the process will take a while.

• Buy a car. We also already have a car but it needs a good fixing so we have decided to save for a brand new car!

I hope this has inspired you to find and follow you own goals. I would love for anyone to leave a comment below on any goals you have or any tips/advice for me!

First signs of Christmas !

Okay so today I woke u looked outside and seen that it was snowing! Now I don’t know about you but I freaking love the snow! This for me sets the Christmas spirit right in just the sights of snow on the ground and on the mountains and it has been snowing all day. We went a walk again to Bridgend woods (our wee spot) and then decided it was the perfect time for a hot chocolate!

This was the view we had at 09.58am this morning it was just lovely. The snow had laid over night and you can see the snow cloud but just a head there was a wee peak of blue sky waiting to come out.

Here are some more photos of the day.

Perfect Christmas cosy night

Here’s my guide to a perfect night in!

1. Grab some of your favourite snacks (in my case all of our favourites) as when we settle down at night neither of us can stop munching!

2. Get all cosy, whither that’s on the couch or in your bed. Grab lots of pillows and blankets and just snuggle up, and if you have one, put some logs in your fireplace.

3. Be original and grab a Christmas dvd or go onto Netflix and choose from a range on the app.

A few of my favourite DVD’s to watch are:

•Elf •The Grinch • Santa Clause the movie

A few of my Netflix’s faves are:

• A Christmas prince •Arthur Christmas

•A wish for Christmas

4. Make some amazing hot chocolate, get an easy to make hot chocolate with some mini marshmallows and some cream! Or if you don’t fancy hot chocolate you can always make yourself a good cuppa!

‘Make-up obsession’ review

Okay so today I bring something a little different. I have a huge passion for make-up and I am growing my collection very slowly but we are getting there. One of my interests is discovering and trying out new products. I was in Boots a couple of months ago and discovered the brand ‘Make-up Obsession’. It was a small stand at the end of one of the make up isles and these are the sort of things that catch my eye. Now this brand are a sort of ‘make your own palette’ which I love doing. I love being creative with make-up palettes.

So today I want to share with you my palette creation. Okay so the first step was to pick what palette you want to hold all your inserts in. I Leila leave a link below so you can visit the website and see the collection for yourself and it is an easy step by step process. The choice I went for was the medium palette in black which was priced at £4.00 which I think is so amazing and affordable!

Next you have to select, fill and customise your palette to your wishes. So here you get to choose from a range of brow, lip, eyes, contour, highlight and blush. The inserts range from a price of £2.00-£3.00 which is just mind blowing especially for the quality you get. So I’ll insert some swatches and I’ll link the name of each product below.

• So first of all I picked out a contour insert in the shade C103 light medium.

• Next I picked 3 eyeshadows one in the colour E154 Brooklyn, another in E101 Burnt and the last one is in the shade E105 White out.

• I decided I needed a new brow powder so I also picked up one in the shade BR107 dark brown.

• Finally I had to get myself a highlighter. I got the shade H104 Moon.

And here is a little insert of all the colours together and the link for the website here !

An afternoon at the sea side

So yesterday me and Katie went to Kilchoman beach with the dogs. We parked the car up and walked down to the beach. It managed to stay dry the whole time and the sun was shining bright although it was not warm at all it was still chilly. The sky and the clouds created a beautiful pattern and I decided I would take some pictures whilst we were there. We walked the length of the beach and ran about with the dogs chasing us and digging at our feet. We managed to find a little river which ran straight down the beach and into the sea. We were so puffed out from running about and our nose, hands and feet were freezing so we decide to walk back to the car as the sky started to cloud over so we thought we’d better head before it starts to rain. We walked back to the car with the dogs admiring the view that we could see looking straight out across the beach and into the sea.
